This beautiful BMW Z1 was ordered new by a Danish customer in December 1990. High taxation rates made the Z1 too expensive to register in Denmark, so in 1992 its owner brought the car to the South of France when he retired to Menton. In only 12 years of ownership, he covered only 15,000 kilometres in his Z1. Accompanying Contrôles Techniques show that the car has been driven a few hundred kilometres annually, and not merely left idle in storage.

In 2002 the car was sold to the president of the French BMW Club who, after 14 years of ownership, decided to sell it through Bonhams France. The car has been in my collection since september 2016. When I acquired it had covered 23.000 km’s. I drove it for ±1.000 km’s per year, to date is has covered some 31.000 km’s. Every time I take the car out I’m amazed by how well it drives.

One of 133 models finished in the rarest colour, Fun-gelb (yellow), this car is one of only 104 that also has the black/camouflage interior. It is presented in generally very good condition, and is completely original apart from a stainless steel sport exhaust (which gives the car more power), a new convertible roof and a new Blaupunkt Bremen SQR45 radio. The original BMW Business radio/casette is included in the sale.

The car is offered with French Carte Grise, Contrôle Technique, loads of invoices, and the service book. Unique yellow headlight lenses are fitted currently, but the car also comes with clear lenses for use outside France.
