The Lamborghini Murciélago is a sports car produced by Italian automotive manufacturer Lamborghini between 2001 and 2010. The successor to the Diablo and flagship V12 of the automaker's lineup, the Murciélago was introduced as a coupé in 2001. The car was first available in North America for the 2002 model year. The Murciélago was Lamborghini's first new design in eleven years, and was also the brand's first new model under the ownership of German parent company Audi, which is owned by Volkswagen. The car is designed by Belgian Luc Donckerwolke, Lamborghini's head of design from 1998 to 2005.
Murcielagos are arguably one of the best Lamborghinis ever produced as it is the last V12 they offered with a manual gearbox, such as the example which we are presenting here today. They were also available with the popular (for its time) automatic gearbox. For sheer excitement, the manual is the one you want. Especially with a screaming straight-pipe exhaust with valves to keep the neighbours happy.
The example which we are presenting here today is truly unique and a very rare opportunity to own with its 1 of 20 Liberty Walk Performance body kit. LB Performance is a Japanese body kit producer that challenges the status quo and designs the craziest kits for the rarest supercars. Even Ferrari F40 and Lamborghini Countach… It is quite rare to get a genuine LB Performance built car outside of Japan and especially a Murcielago. This Murcielago was delivered new to the United States, where she stayed until 2011 before being exported to Japan where the LB Performance kit was installed. This kit consists of a front and rear bumper, spoiler, wider overfenders, wheels, LED lights, stickers, etc. And we left her untouched, from the full wrap all the way to the LED lights in the wheels, underside, bumpers, etc. That is how she left Liberty Walk Performance. Underneath her unique wrap she has a stunning yellow metallic paint from factory.
Let’s talk about her drive train… Her 6.2L V12 engine screams with a straight pipe exhaust. And yes she has valves which are controlled via a remote. Mated to this legendary engine you will find a gated manual gearbox. And yes, this is for sure our favourite part. The clicks that come from the shifter are like music. She shifts and drives very smoothly. You will also be happy to hear that she comes with a lift system in the front to get over obstacles. She is rather low…
Being a USA car the Carfax shows her history and that she has a clean title. From 2011 onwards she spent 5000 miles in Japan before we imported her into Europe. This means that she can be re-imported to the USA without any problem. Car Cave USA, based in Aiken, SC can assist with the process.

De Lamborghini Murciélago is een sportwagen die tussen 2001 en 2010 werd geproduceerd door de Italiaanse autofabrikant Lamborghini. De Murciélago, de opvolger van de Diablo en vlaggenschip van de V12, werd in 2001 geïntroduceerd als coupé. De auto was voor het eerst verkrijgbaar in Noord-Amerika voor het modeljaar 2002. De Murciélago was Lamborghini's eerste nieuwe ontwerp in elf jaar en het was ook het eerste nieuwe model van het merk onder het Duitse moederbedrijf Audi, dat eigendom is van Volkswagen.
De auto is ontworpen door de Belg Luc Donckerwolke, Lamborghini's hoofd design van 1998 tot 2005.
Murcielagos zijn ontegensprekelijk een van de beste Lamborghini's ooit geproduceerd, omdat het de laatste V12 is die werd aangeboden met een handgeschakelde versnellingsbak, zoals het exemplaar dat we hier vandaag presenteren. Ze waren ook verkrijgbaar met de populaire (voor die tijd) automatische versnellingsbak. Voor pure opwinding wil je de handgeschakelde. Vooral met een gillende rechte uitlaat met kleppen om de buren tevreden te houden.
Het exemplaar dat we hier vandaag presenteren is werkelijk uniek en een zeer zeldzame kans om te bezitten met zijn 1 van 20 Liberty Walk Performance bodykit. LB Performance is een Japanse bodykit producent die de status quo uitdaagt en de coolste kits ontwerpt voor de meest zeldzame supercars. Zelfs Ferrari F40 en Lamborghini Countach... Het is vrij zeldzaam om een echte LB Performance auto buiten Japan te vinden en dan vooral een Murcielago.

Deze Murcielago werd nieuw geleverd in de Verenigde Staten, waar hij tot 2011 bleef voordat hij werd geëxporteerd naar Japan, waar de LB Performance-kit werd geïnstalleerd. Deze kit bestaat uit een voor- en achterbumper, spoiler, bredere spatborden, wielen, LED-verlichting, stickers, enz. En we hebben haar onaangeroerd gelaten, van de volledige wrap tot de LED-verlichting in de wielen, onderkant, bumpers, enz. Zo verliet ze Liberty Walk Performance. Onder haar unieke wrap heeft ze een prachtige originele geel metallic fabriekslak.
Laten we het eens over haar aandrijving hebben...
Haar 6.2L V12 motor schreeuwt het uit met een rechte uitlaat. En ja, ze heeft kleppen die met een afstandsbediening worden bediend. Aan deze legendarische motor is een handgeschakelde versnellingsbak gekoppeld. En ja, dit is zeker ons favoriete onderdeel. De klikken die uit de versnellingspook komen zijn als muziek. Ze schakelt en rijdt heel soepel. Je zult ook blij zijn om te horen dat ze wordt geleverd met een liftsysteem aan de voorkant om over obstakels heen te komen.
Omdat ze haar origine in de VS heeft, laat de Carfax haar geschiedenis zien. Vanaf 2011 heeft ze 5000 mijl in Japan gereden voordat we haar in Europa importeerden.
